Our Hand Reflexology course is suitable for beginners and for experienced foot reflexologists – you do the modules you need to gain the necessary skills. The full course for beginners is delivered by blended learning methods, an innovation in therapy training which makes Hand Reflexology accessible to more students than traditional courses.

You start by taking your two theory courses online – these are the Guild of Holistic Therapists GTi Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology certificate along with the GTi Professional Standards qualification. A&P is the the basis for all therapies and teaches you how the human body works. Professional Standards will help you meet health and hygiene requirements, carry out a client consultation, refer clients to medical professionals where appropriate, abide by ethical rules and understand issues such as insurance, contraindications, National Occupational Standards and legal questions when you start your own practice.  The two certificates for these courses are awarded by The Guild of Holistic Therapists GTi training body.

If you are already qualified as a foot reflexologist then you will not need to repeat theory work which you have covered previously – you will probably book straight onto the two-day practical training element of the course. If you are a beginner, you are ready to take your practical training once you have completed your online training. The Hand Reflexology practical training element is two days, and you will be taught in a group of no more than four students – this means you have the teacher’s full attention. You will learn all of the zones and reflex areas, the hand positions and treatment techniques. You will  carry out a full consultation, assess the hands and give a full treatment to clients using the full range of reflexology techniques and covering all the reflexes for the body’s systems.

We do not offer a two-day reflexology course at any level! We are using the same methods as famous universities – blended learning, which means that instead of spending hours sitting in a classroom you cover all the anatomy and physiology and the theory required to give you a firm foundation as a therapist at home at times to suit you. We use GTi courses which are externally assessed and awarded, and which will form the basis for any of our other training. Practical skills are taught in a tiny group from a tutor who is a practising therapist herself. Your training days will be spent learning the zones, reflexes and treatment techniques, practising them and putting them together into a full treatment.  We believe that complementary therapy treatments should be pleasurable for the client, and so we will introduce you to beautiful products you can obtain at trade prices to bring that extra something to your hand reflexology.

The course is accepted for insurance and we can give you help on this. You will receive a course manual containing all the information covered on the course along with a laminated set of Hand Reflexology charts to guide you in your practice. Everything that you need to carry out the treatments during the course is provided for you and we give you suppliers’ lists so you can source and purchase everything you need to start offering hand reflexology treatments.

Once you have completed this training you may wish to add Thai Foot Massage or Japanese Hand Massage to your skills portfolio and if you like hands you might think about doing manicures – we offer Manicure and Pedicure courses as well as Spa Hand Therapy which includes pampering foot treatments such as Thai Herbal Massage and an aromatherapy massage treatment using beautiful essential oils. When you start to offer clients these exciting new treatments you will see your diary fill up quickly!
